Art visions: "primary structures" and "spherical panoramas"

A photographic art project by Susann Dietrich and Michael Jahn.

Tradition and innovation not only characterize the image of Mannheim, but have also always determined the progress in photography. Susann Dietrich uses this force field in order to discover the city with her camera. This way, firstly, the digital photo collection "primary structures" was created, which deals with the basic geometric structures of Mannheim and highly focuses on material and shape. Secondly, Dietrich shows the analogous series "spherical panoramas", which spotlights the abstract through the interaction of subjective points of view and experimental approaches. Deriving from room and floor numbers she puts a coordinate system over the entire urban area and, thereby, also finds most remote places.
