Art visions: "The opportunities offered by a place"

A photographic art project by Daniela Djukic and Patrick Pollmeier.

Old buildings vanish, new ones appear, streets receive new names, are expanded, narrowed or diverted. Places are in a state of change.

With their joint work, Daniela Djukic and Patrick Pollmeier try to unlock the reference to the past that is inherent in photography. With picture expansions, changes of perspective and reductions, the two photographers draft a visionary image of Barmbek. What you see is not about today, yesterday or tomorrow. Rather, their work plays around with what we are used to seeing every day. It tries to open our mind for the opportunities offered by a place and provides an individual access via one picture. The viewer is encouraged to not only look straight ahead on their walk, but instead to turn around, to stop and to let their gaze wander.
