Welcome to Dubai
Picturesque beaches, landscapes, unforgettable cultural experiences, shopping opportunities, international entertainment and restaurants from all over the world - Dubai has something for everyone. Whether you are into shopping, adventure, gastronomy or just relaxing, this bustling city offers an unparalleled variety of attractions and activities.
Al Jaddaf literally means "the rower" and the area was primarily a dockyard to build traditional sailing vessels known as "dhows". The Jaddaf shipyards are today the only site for building and maintenance of these traditional boats. Located in the western part of the city, Al Jaddaf borders Bur Dubai, Al Karama and Dubai Creek. Cultural developments in the area include Jameel Art Centre, Jaddaf Waterfront Sculpture Park and Mohammed Bin Rashid Library.
