Art visions: "Vienna"

A photographic art project by Matthias H. Risse and Cem Kozcuer.

Vienna - The photographers Matthias H. Risse and Cem Kozcuer have pondered the question of which images of Vienna exist in personal thoughts. Much of what one expects in a work about Vienna is suggested. Horses, Franz with white

gloves, elegant parties, splendour, mountains: yes, everything is included. But despite this, the work is far from meeting cliché-like expectations. Close-ups suppress large portions of the motif’s context – letting us, in fact, discern an individual interest in objects and their specific characteristics. The images reveal a vision which is aware of its own expectations, and breaks these.
